What functional physiotherapy covers

Functional physiotherapy focuses less on the injury than on what it stops you doing: climbing stairs, carrying shopping, getting back on a bike, playing with your grandchildren. The programme is built around these concrete goals.

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (back, hip, knee, shoulder)
  • Recovery after trauma and surgery (joint replacement, fracture fixation, ligaments)
  • Support for athletes
  • Support for older adults: balance, strength, fall prevention, maintaining independence

How sessions work

The first session is a 60-minute assessment, giving time to discuss your expectations, history, difficulties and goals so that we can build an appropriate plan together.

Follow-up sessions of 30 minutes put the agreed rehabilitation programme into practice, assess progress and adjust goals as you improve.
